What it can (and can’t) do

You can add and stamp anything on top of a PDF and rearrange its pages losslessly — the original vector text and graphics are preserved on export. What no browser editor can do is truly reflow existing embedded text, so for changes to text that’s already in the file, use whiteout-and-retype. For unrecoverable redaction, flatten to an image; for scanned documents, run OCR first; certificate-based digital signatures need a desktop tool.

Is the PDF editor really free and private?
Yes. It runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly and canvas — your file is never uploaded to a server, so there are no limits, watermarks, or privacy trade-offs.
Can I edit the existing text in a PDF?
Yes — pick the Edit text tool and click a line of text; it's covered and re-created as an editable box pre-filled with the original text, so you can change it and download. This is whiteout-and-retype (the approach every browser PDF editor uses), which works best on digitally-generated PDFs with a white background; true in-place reflow of embedded text isn't something a browser can do reliably, because a PDF stores fixed, positioned glyphs rather than editable paragraphs.
Does the black-box/whiteout tool truly redact sensitive text?
The whiteout tool hides text visually. For legally-sensitive redaction where the underlying text must be unrecoverable, flatten the page to an image first — a drawn box alone does not delete the text underneath.
Can I sign a PDF?
Yes — draw your signature with the Draw tool or drop in a signature image. This is a visual signature; cryptographic (certificate-based) digital signatures are not supported.
Can I edit a scanned PDF?
A scanned PDF is an image with no text to edit. You can still add text, whiteout and annotations on top. To make scanned text searchable/editable, run OCR first.
